VIEW FROM THE OTHER SIDE
monotypes from plate constructed with plexiglass
Using thin sheets of plexiglass, I cut and arranged pieces to create the form of a lattice window mounted to a dry erase board. As I incorporated intaglio inking techniques and a relief roll, I was imaging an overgrown planter box on the other side that eventually engulfs this constructed view. As my work further explores my impression of the natural world through frames of domesticity, I often feel conflicted by feelings of separation. A sense of removal, and helplessness at times, experienced as the subject to the motivations of larger forces.
